RIEBEEK KASTEEL – THE VILLAGE
Riebeek Kasteel is the heart of the Riebeek Valley, and the jewel of the Swartland Region. Just an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the village is a popular getaway for day trippers and weekend warriors, yet it has maintained all the peaceful charm of a small farming town.
Surrounded by vineyards, wheat fields and olive orchards, and anchored by the towering Kasteelberg mountain, this is one of the oldest and most picturesque towns in South Africa.
The village is full of eateries, shops and creative surprises, and there is so much to do and explore in the area, from wine and olive tasting to mountain biking and hiking. Of course, complete unplugged relaxation is very acceptable too!
